Everything Is New!

Hi hi hi! I’m Elsie! Everything is new, everything is fun, and everything is exciting! I want to bounce, I want to play, I want to do it all at once.

Sometimes I bark when I don’t need to. Sometimes I push when I shouldn’t. But I’m learning.

When Russ is calm, when Charlie gives me that “puppy, please” look, I begin to understand: I don’t have to do everything myself.

Last year, the snow came down and I raced through the garden, ears flying, paws sinking.

Charlie even played with me, and it was the best day ever. Moments like that make me wiggle with joy. But here’s the thing I’m learning: play is best when it comes from calm.

Excitement on my terms just makes things messy, leadership makes it safe and fun.

I’m young. I’m wiggly. I’m still finding my way. And that’s why I’m here, to show you how calm, kind, consistent leadership turns all this energy into trust.
